What is coaching? It is the process of leveraging
your own strengths to increase your effectiveness, and
thus reach your personal and professional goals more
readily. Coaching works to solve challenges in the present.
Coaching assist you or your organization in setting
both short and long terms goals, and developing strategies
that produces favorable and obtainable outcomes. It
gives you the opportunity for a specified period of
time to focus on working on those things that have been
waiting for your attention.
What coaching is not? Coaching is not a replacement
for therapy. My focus as your coach is to work with
you on improving your life now. Our time is not spent
focusing on your past regrets and emotional issues,
but rather focusing on your efforts to make a choice
to live your life in the present.
Why does coaching work? Coaching works because
you have a collaborator who believes in you and works
with you on an ongoing basis to keep you focused on
what it is you want to accomplish. It allows you to
systematically stay on top of the goals, plans and strategies
that you have developed.
What kinds of tools may be used in the coaching
session? Coaching uses the following tools: discovery
questioning, creative visualization, goal setting, strengths
inventory assessment, outrageous requesting, strategy
development work, contextual listening, gap bridging,
goal-setting and celebrating what is. These are just
some of the tools that may be part of the coaching sessions.
How do you define coaching? It is the technology
and the art of causing a shift or shifts to take place
so that individuals and/or teams are able to develop
their goals and maximize their potential
